Matthew Lawes: 'I started animating for the first time 6 months ago after finishing a degree in architecture. The freedom and creativity that animation brings to film was something that interested me and something I know will project successfully into feature film; where animation is not the sole product but enables and compliments live action. My first animation was for musician and member of the Guillemots, Fyfe Dangerfield. Since then I have produced music videos for Thomas White, a member of Brakes, cult band Electric Soft Parade and regular musician for Patrick Wolf. My latest music video was for an Australian musician Rich Webb, using tilt shift animation. I have also produced two short films in that time, 'Black Spring' and 'Scarlett Raven', where I directed, animated and produced the original music with sound engineer / producer Joe Bulmer.

The future holds many exciting projects; including City Sessions, a live performance based set of films with integrated animation! I have been asked to work on future videos with the guillemots, as well as future projects with Scarlett Raven and a feature film with Creative designer and Director Natasha Lawes.
