25.5 high x 12.5 x 8 inches
Biblical Scripture:

Sorek whose name was Delilah”
JUDGES 16:11
Description of Sculpture:
Richard's sculpture of Delilah, another Venus d'Milo-style torso, could be
mistaken for the work of a Renaissance Old Master. Carved out of beautiful
marble, the sculpture displays the magnificent polished texture of this
remarkable piece of stone, while the Classical Renaissance beauty of Delilah
springs forth. Every line in her body is a delight to see: her petite, but full,
breasts, and her rounded stomach. However, as you walk around this sculpture it
is Delilah's rear view that is especially stunning. This is truly a temptress
who conquered the strongest man in the world.
Artist's Interpretation:
“Delilah could only be carved from marble because bronze could
never convey the pristine smooth lines of feminine perfection. DELILAH was
originally crafted in clay from a live model and I used this as a basis of form
for the marble sculpture. It was a wonderful choice of marble, as I discovered
when the wax polish brought out magic colours which were initially hidden in the
original untouched stone.”
